2004
SUCCESS FROM THE START

In its preliminary year, as Down Syndrome Down Under Swimming Organisation (DSDUSO), a team of 5 swimmers represented Australia at the 2nd World Down Syndrome Swimming Championships in Durban, South Africa. There Australia placed 3rd behind England and South Africa. This became the platform for swimmers with Down syndrome to compete on a level playing ground at international games organised by Down Syndrome International Swimming Organisation (DSISO).
